Announcing Festival Mozaic Summer Season 2012

It’s our 42nd year at Festival Mozaic, but 2012 will be by far the best season yet.  Before we give you the details, you might as well black out the dates July 12-22 on your calendar now, because you’re not going to want to miss a single thing.

The theme for this summer’s Festival is “In the Footsteps of Giants” which celebrates the rich lineage of composers who have inspired one another over the ages to write the masterworks we know and love.  As usual, Music Director Scott Yoo has programmed a diverse and decadent festival, with dearly beloved pieces like Bach’s Chaconne from Partita No. 2 in d minor and Brahms’ String Quintet in F Major and lesser-known jewels like Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 for eight cellos and soprano and Erich Korngold’s Suite for Two Violins, Cello, and Left Hand Piano.  To see the full Festival summer season brochure, click here.

You’ll find some familiar faces on stage, including Festival favorites pianist John Novacek, violinist Dale Bartrop and violinist Steven Copes, as well as new artists like soprano Karin Mushegain and Fringe artists VOCO with special guest Inga Swearingen.  Venues range from grand Central Coast spaces like Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, Mission San Miguel, Hearst Castle and Chapel Hill to Paso Robles’ intimate Studios on the Park and the See Canyon Fruit Ranch.

Of course, surrounding the Festival’s every event will be plenty of beaches, sunshine, wine country, hiking, biking, kayaking, and delicious Central Coast cuisine!  Not a bad way to spend ten days, is it?

Subscription ticket packages go on sale April 2, 2012, and individual tickets go on sale May 1. Tickets may be ordered online at or by calling (805) 781-3009 / (877) 881-8899.
